WALK IN INTERVIEW: THEIR IS A VACANCY OF A PROJECT FELLOW  FOR A NANOSCINCE RESEARCH PROJECT FUNDED BY KSCSTE, TRIVANDRUM. THE DEPT. OF PHYSICS, NIRMALA COLLEGE, MUVATTUPUZHA, KERALA CONDUCTS A WALK IN INTTERVIEW ON 4TH JANUARY 2012 AT 11 AM.

QUALIFICATION: M.Sc/M.Phil WITH PHYSICS/CHEMISTRY/MATERIALS SCIENCE WITH MORE THAN 60% MARKS. UGC-NET QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WILL BE PREFERED.

FELLOWSHIP: Rs.10,000/- PER MONTH FOR A PERIOD OF THREE YEARS.

NANOSTECH 2011- INAUGURATION

National Symposium on Nanoscience and Technology (NANOSTECH 2011), organized by the Science Departments of Nirmala College, Muvattupuzha, Kerala, was held at the Campus of Nirmala College during September 1- 2, 2011. The inaugural session started with the blessings of God almighty at 10:15 am, on September 1, 2011. Dr Thomas Varghese, Convener, Nanostech 2011 welcomed the gathering to the function. Rt. Rev. Msgr. Fr. Thomas Malekudy, Manager of the College presided over the function. The event was inaugurated by Dr. Ramachandran Thekkedath, Hon. Vice Chancellor, Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT), Cochin, after the inaugural speech. He envisioned the potentials of Nanoscience and technology. Prof N Joy, Principal, Nirmala College, Rev. Dr. T.M. George, Formal Principal, Nirmala College and Mr Krishnan Menon, Manager, SBI, Muvattupuzha Town branch felicitated on the occasion. Prof. Josekutty J. Ozhukayil thanked the dignitaries, the delegates and all who had gathered in the college auditorium.

 The department of Physics conducts a study trip to Research Department of Physics of Cochin University of Science and Technology on 14th January 2011, as part of the OPEN HOUSE programme of the department of Physics, CUSAT. The programme offers the demonstration of various scientific instrumentation, research equipments, live experiments and much more............ It will help the Faculty members and the students to familiarize with the emerging science reserchs and investigations.

THE SMART TOUCH - EMPLOYABILITY ENAHANCEMENT TRAINING PROGRAMME

The Department of Physics, Nirmala College Organized a two day Employability Enhancement Training Programme  for the Final Year B.Sc Physics and Electronics Students on 7th and 8th December 2010, in association with Race education and management solutions Pvt. Ltd., Cochin. The aim of the programme was to develop Skills in Interveiw , Group Discussion, C.V. Preparation, Self introdution  and Presentation Skills.
